Part-Time | On-Call / Event-Based | Opportunity to Grow into Full-Time
The Happy Brush Art Studio is a growing creative events company seeking an experienced Lead Artist to join our team.
We currently host Paint & Sip events, private parties, pop-ups, corporate events, kids' events, and other creative experiences throughout Northern New Jersey.
About the Position
This is currently a part-time, on-call position based on event bookings. Hours will vary depending on our event schedule and may include weekday evenings and weekends.
We are currently operating as a mobile art studio while we search for a permanent home for The Happy Brush Art Studio. Because of this, traveling to different event locations is an important part of this position. Our events may take place at restaurants and bars, private homes and venues, corporate offices, community spaces, and other locations throughout Northern New Jersey.
The Lead Artist must be comfortable traveling to different locations and adapting to different event settings.
As our business continues to grow and we establish our permanent studio location, this position has the potential to grow into a regular or full-time Lead Artist role. We are looking for someone who is excited about joining us during this stage of our growth and potentially growing with The Happy Brush long-term.
Responsibilities
- Lead Paint & Sip classes and other creative events
- Teach acrylic paintings step-by-step in a clear and engaging way
- Lead groups of different sizes while keeping guests involved and entertained
- Travel to restaurants, private parties, corporate offices, venues, and other event locations
- Walk around the room and provide individual assistance to guests
- Create acheerful, energetic, fun, and welcoming atmosphere
- Engage with guests throughout the entire event
- Assist with event setup, organization, and cleanup
- Work with both adults and children depending on the event
- Assist with additional arts and crafts activities as our offerings expand
- Represent The Happy Brush Art Studio professionally at every event
Qualifications
- Previous art instruction or Paint & Sip experience required
- Strong experience with acrylic painting
- Experience with arts and crafts is highly preferred
- Comfortable speaking and teaching in front of groups
- Must be outgoing, cheerful, energetic, patient, and personable
- Must know how to engage an audience and make the experience FUN
- Dependable, punctual, professional, and able to work independently when needed
- Must be comfortable working weekday evenings and weekends
- Must be willing and able to travel to different event locations throughout Northern New Jersey
- Reliable transportation is strongly preferred
Compensation
Hourly rate is based on experience.
