Full Job Description

Position of Billing Clerk
The Arc of Morehouse

Bastrop, Louisiana

The Arc of Morehouse is currently searching for a part-time Billing Clerk. Our non-profit organization has been serving individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in northeast Louisiana since 1955. The Arc of Morehouse provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities by offering ICF-DD services, NOW waiver services, and Supported employment services.

Our organization’s vision is that all individuals with developmental disabilities have the chance to live their fullest potential. The Arc’s commitment has always been to secure for people with intellectual disabilities an opportunity to choose and realize their goals of where and how they learn, live, work and play. The association has operated in Bastrop, Louisiana, for over 69 years and currently serves 50 adults in Morehouse Parish.

Position Summary:

The Billing Clerk position is a part-time, on-site job. The candidate who is selected will directly report to the CEO and COO and will play a key role in the organization.

Key Duties:

Input data into billing software. Enter corrections when necessary.
Track payment receipts to ensure approved invoices are paid for each client.
Work with accounting staff to ensure that payments are received from the funders as confirmed on transmittals. May also assist in assuring that payments are coded correctly.
Prepares monthly statements for clients that indicate the amount of

Service units remaining available for use.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Basic math—addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. Knowledge of LASRS system.
Use of a computer and software (document preparation and spreadsheet).
Use of calculator.
Use of telephone.
Must be able to work efficiently, effectively, and in an organized manner.
A high degree of integrity and confidentiality.
Proficient in interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently under general supervision, meet deadlines.
Ability to work effectively, collaboratively, and cooperatively with others.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: Competitive pay based on qualifications and experience. Annual bonuses are provided if funds are available.
Benefits: Medical, dental and vision coverage is available with The Arc of Morehouse. Voluntary Supplemental Insurance for Accident and Short-Term Disability is available. Annual paid time off is provided for vacation and personal leave, sick days, and a minimum of twelve holidays per year. A 403(b) tax-sheltered annuity plan is available.

Requirements:

High school diploma required
At least two (2) years of related work experience
Proficiency in use of computers and electronic communication methods.
Valid Louisiana Driver's License
Live in or willing to relocate to within short commuting distance of Bastrop, Louisiana.
