We're looking for a compassionate, hardworking, and team-oriented Veterinary Technician who is passionate about animal welfare and enjoys working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Position Overview
This is a full-time Veterinary Technician position responsible for assisting veterinarians with patient care, wellness appointments, surgical recovery, laboratory procedures, client education, medical record documentation, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized clinic.
Our technicians work together to provide exceptional patient care while supporting one another in a collaborative, positive, and professional environment.
Career Progression
All Veterinary Technicians begin their employment working primarily in our Wellness Clinic and Surgical Recovery departments. This provides a strong foundation in our medical protocols, workflow, and standards of care.
As competency is demonstrated and additional training is completed, technicians may have the opportunity to be cross-trained into advanced clinical responsibilities, including:
- Surgery assistance
- Surgical preparation
- Anesthesia induction and monitoring
- Dentistry
- Laboratory diagnostics
- Radiology
- Pharmacy
- Inventory management
Cross-training opportunities are based on demonstrated competency, individual performance, successful completion of training, and clinic operational needs.
Primary ResponsibilitiesWellness Clinic
- Assist veterinarians during wellness appointments
- Safely restrain canine and feline patients
- Administer vaccines, medications, and microchips
- Collect laboratory samples
- Perform in-house diagnostics
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records
- Educate clients regarding preventive healthcare
Surgical Recovery
- Admit and prepare surgical patients
- Monitor patients before and after anesthesia
- Record vital signs and patient observations
- Assist with patient discharge
- Provide postoperative client education
General Clinic Duties
- Clean and disinfect examination rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and surgery suites
- Sterilize surgical instruments and prepare surgery packs
- Perform laundry and maintain clinic cleanliness
- Stock medical supplies and medications
- Assist with inventory management
- Support teammates wherever needed to ensure smooth clinic operations
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Compassion for both animals and people
Preferred
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
- Experience with electronic medical records
- High-volume surgery or wellness clinic experience
Working Conditions
This position regularly involves exposure to:
- Dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
- Animal feces, urine, blood, saliva, and other bodily fluids
- Fractious or aggressive animals
- Strong odors
- Cleaning chemicals and disinfectants
- Medical equipment, sharps, and anesthesia
- Loud barking and busy clinical environments
Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequently bend, kneel, squat, and lift
- Safely restrain dogs and cats
- Lift up to 50 pounds independently and heavier patients with assistance
- Perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity
Schedule
- The typical work schedule is typically:
- Monday: 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Tuesday: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Wednesday: 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Thursdays: Closed
- Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
In addition, Veterinary Technicians are required to work one Saturday shift per month as part of the regular schedule. Work schedules may be adjusted periodically to meet the operational needs of the clinic, including coverage for special events, staffing needs, or other organizational requirements.
