Full Job Description

Tryfacta is seeking an Optometrist for our clients in Bastrop, TX. This role is a 12-month contract assignment.

Job Title: Optometrist (Contract Position)

Location: Bastrop, TX 78602

Work Schedule: A session is defined as one (1) hour. Contractor must be available to provide up to five (5) eight-hour clinical visits (40 sessions) per month for an estimated total 480 sessions per contract year. There will be an estimated 12 to 15 patients per clinic. Clinics will typically be scheduled between the hours of 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (lunch not included), Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays.
A monthly schedule will be agreed upon after award by mutual agreement of all parties. This schedule is subject to change to meet the needs of the institution. Any change in schedule or adjustments in sessions will require prior approval by the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) Payment for services will only be based on scheduled sessions of work according to contract. A schedule that is mutually acceptable to the government and the contractor can be determined after award of the contract.

Pay: $90 - 95/hr

Overview: Seeking a licensed Optometrist to provide non-personal optometry services on a contract basis. This role involves conducting routine eye exams and minor procedures. The contractor must be comfortable working with a diverse inmate population.

Responsibilities:

Conduct routine eye exams and diagnose eye conditions
Prescribe and fit corrective lenses/frames
Perform tonometry and remove foreign bodies from the eye
Document findings and recommendations in the EMR system
Provide follow-up care and specialist referrals as needed
Complete 12–25 patient exams per clinic day

To be considered for this position, you should have: [Skills, Education, or Experience]

Qualifications:
Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited program.
Current, unrestricted license to practice optometry in the State of Texas.
Minimum of 1–2 years' clinical optometry experience preferred.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations in a correctional facility environment.
Must pass federal security clearance/background checks.
Must provide proof of malpractice insurance ($1M per occurrence / $3M aggregate).
Free from infectious diseases and able to meet health requirements.
Additional Information:
Professional attire required (jeans, t-shirts, sandals, or sweatpants are not permitted).
All supplies and equipment will be furnished by the institution.
Position is strictly independent contractor status – not an employee role
