Strategic Sourcing Manager
Location: Elgin, IL
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000
Work Schedule: Onsite, Monday through Friday

Strategic Sourcing Manager - Lead Innovation & Drive Cost Savings in Packaging

Are you a visionary procurement professional with a passion for strategic sourcing and category management? Join our dynamic team and make a tangible impact in the packaging industry! As a Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will oversee key supplier relationships, develop innovative sourcing strategies, and spearhead cost-saving initiatives that propel our supply chain excellence. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend analytical expertise with leadership, working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment where your contributions truly matter.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Established network within the domestic packaging and corrugated supplier community
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Deep understanding of sourcing, procurement, inventory management, distribution, and transportation
Ability to analyze market data and make data-driven decisions
Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and projects efficiently
Leadership and mentoring skills with a collaborative approach

Bonus Points If You Have:

Experience with supplier development and performance management
Familiarity with procurement reporting, KPI tracking, and process improvements
Knowledge of packaging industry trends and innovations

Preferred Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
5 to 10 years in sourcing, procurement, category management, or buying roles
Prior leadership experience in projects or team settings is advantageous

Additional Requirements:

Strong industry connections within packaging and corrugated supplier networks
Ability to support internal departments like operations, inventory, and transportation
Experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier performance
Prolonged periods of working at a desk and on a computer
