Home Instead of NKY is hiring Non-Medical Caregivers!All shifts/ days available!

Morning [8am - 12pm, 9am - 1pm]
Afternoon [12 - 4pm, [1pm - 5pm]
Evening [5pm - 10pm]
Overnight [10pm - 8am]
Monday-Friday
Saturday-Sunday (Shift Differential Available)

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Non-Medical Caregiver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to assist seniors and individuals with disabilities, providing essential support with daily activities and personal care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives through attentive, respectful, and professional caregiving.

Duties

Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques.
Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being, including engaging in conversation, recreational activities, and memory care routines for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
Support clients with medication reminders and monitor vital signs when necessary, adhering to care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations.
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with meal planning and preparation to ensure proper nutrition.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and home safety checks.
Offer transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or community outings while ensuring client safety during transfers using appropriate patient transfer methods.
Communicate effectively with clients’ families and healthcare teams to report observations related to patient health or behavioral changes.

Qualifications

Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable.
Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care—including Alzheimer’s and memory care—and experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional training in hospice care or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, medication administration protocols, patient monitoring, and vital signs measurement.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with patient transfer methods such as the Hoyer lift when necessary.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds and their families.
Experience supporting senior care needs or individuals with intellectual disabilities supports success in this role.
