Full Job Description

Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, minimum of 2 years of experience in the foster care field and demonstrated competencies in administrative tasks. These competencies include ability to create and maintain the annual training calendar for prospective and currently licensed foster parents and staff; coordinate schedules with trainers; provide administrative support for the training department and maintain all necessary documentation. Excellent organizational and administrative skills, interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to think creatively. Team-oriented with positive attitude a must. The Training Coordinator must have strong administrative and clerical skills.

Must complete required background checks including BCII / FBI with no record of forbidden offenses listed in OAC 5180:2-5-09. As part of the BCI/FBI background checks necessary for employment, in compliance with new policies from the Ohio Department of Children & Youth (DCY), all employees, new hires, and interns will have background checks conducted specifically searching for charges of domestic abuse. If there are any charges of domestic abuse or new charges that occur during time of employment, the employee is subject to denial of employment in the case of prospective new hires or interns and termination of employment for hired staff members, whether employees, contractors, or interns.

Tasks may include:

Develop knowledge/awareness of all Focus on Youth programs and oversee the maintenance of agency’s training department policies and procedures.
Coordinate program operations daily.
Responsible for the coordination of the bi-annual training plan; and the annual training calendar for preplacement, ongoing, and staff trainings.
Coordination of the pre-placement training program for foster parents.
Scheduling of trainers and engaging outside speakers for training events.
Responsible for the coordination of all training events.
Responsible for maintaining of COA standards within the training department and maintaining program policy updates for foster families and staff.
Maintaining of all necessary documentation for the training department.
Communicating with foster parents to answer questions about the training calendar, their training plans, and help to problem solve various training need dilemmas.
Community outreach and promotion of training program.
Responsible for coordination of training supplies, training room reservations, training locations.
Develops annual departmental goals, collects data, and reports progress to PQI as a PQI team member.
Maintain training records for training program as required by 5101:2-5 rules and Counselor and Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board, including training registration, attendance, evaluations, resumes/vitas, and other requirements.
Maintain CEU training requirements and application for CSWMFT Board approval of all social work training.
Collaborates with other leadership team members on a regular basis to plan and coordinate training activities.
Attends other agency meetings as needed or requested.
Notify the Executive Director, Youth Specialists and Supervisors of non-compliance issues.
Coordinate and facilitates orientation and ongoing training of staff for the training department.
