Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain current expertise in teaching responsibilities, including but not limited to
- Evidence-based teaching/instructional strategies that are relevant for all methods of delivery

Standards of clinical practice

Assessment and evaluation methods

Principles of diversity, equity and/or inclusion
- May involve team teaching responsibilities and collaborative course delivery.

Actively contribute to the ongoing development, review, assessment, and enhancement of a high-quality nursing curriculum that supports student learning and success.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and deliver nursing course instruction, including course preparation, exam development, grading, and providing timely, constructive feedback.

Teach online components of the course in alignment with the hybrid course model and active learning strategies.

Identify and address areas of student support needed for retention, persistence, and ultimate progression toward graduation.

Provide a minimum of 2.5 hours of scheduled office hours each week for student support, academic advising, and individual guidance (i.e., caring contracts).

Participate in exam analysis and question review sessions to ensure assessments are fair, accurate, and aligned with course learning outcomes.

Communicate promptly with the Program Director regarding any student concerns, progress issues, or other matters requiring attention.

Attend and contribute to course planning, coordination, and faculty meetings as required to ensure a collaborative and cohesive learning experience for students.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION:
Master's degree in nursing or nursing education is required. Candidates with a BSN who are currently enrolled in a master's program in Nursing will be considered.
EXPERIENCE:

Must hold a valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.

Strong teaching skills with proficiency in diverse instructional strategies and delivery methods, including distance learning and hybrid learning environments.

Experience with technology integration in education and familiarity with online learning platforms and active learning strategies are essential.

Additional Information:
SALARY & CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Spring classes begin January 20, 2026. This is a part-time instructor position teaching both in-person and asynchronous online. This position pays a rate of $825 per contact or credit hour.
