Full Job Description

Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician at Stonewater Adolescent Recovery Center supports adolescents in recovery by providing daily supervision, structure, and life-skills support in a safe, compassionate, and team-oriented environment.

Clinical Care and Resident Support

Build healthy, professional relationships with residents individually and in group settings.
Provide daily supervision to ensure resident safety, structure, and engagement in programming.
Assist residents with daily routines, including meals, hygiene, room upkeep, and healthy living practices.
Teach and reinforce appropriate conflict-resolution skills and relational boundaries.
Support residents in developing life skills such as organization, personal responsibility, and social skills.

Operations and Team Support

Support the clinical and residential team by maintaining consistency with Stonewater policies and expectations.
Participate in shift handoffs to communicate resident needs, concerns, admissions, discharges, and updates.
Assist with planning, supervision, and cleanup of meals and scheduled activities during assigned shifts.
Demonstrate punctuality and reliability for all scheduled shifts.

Safety, Compliance, and Collaboration

Monitor for safety concerns, including elopement risk, and respond in accordance with Stonewater protocols.
Maintain visual and/or verbal contact with residents during safety incidents and notify appropriate personnel.
Respond to incidents or crises professionally and complete required documentation in a timely manner.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support resident treatment goals.
Adhere to Joint Commission and state/federal regulatory standards.

Documentation and Program Support

Assist with and document resident self-administration of medications as directed.
Complete required daily documentation, including shift reports, progress notes, and incident reports.
Participate in required staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education.

Additional Expectations

Transport residents to appointments, outings, and approved activities as needed.
Participate in team-building activities and organizational initiatives.
Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Interest or experience in behavioral health, substance use recovery, youth services, education, or social services preferred.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Emotional maturity and ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a structured environment.
Flexibility to work assigned shifts.

Additional Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Reliable transportation and proof of current auto insurance.
Ability to pass background screening, fingerprinting, child abuse clearance, and health/TB screening.
Ability to work with residents, staff, and volunteers from diverse backgrounds, including varying faith perspectives.
