Full Job Description

Overview

We are a small, established CPA firm in Greensburg seeking a Staff Accountant who can manage payrolls, maintain bookkeeping for multiple small‑business clients, and prepare individual tax returns. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys steady client relationships, accurate work, and a flexible schedule outside of tax season.

You’ll work closely with our team, support client communication, and help maintain clean, organized financial records. During tax season, this role requires at least 30 hours per week; during summer and fall, the schedule is part‑time.

Responsibilities

Process payroll for multiple small‑business clients
Maintain accurate bookkeeping in QuickBooks (Desktop and Online)
Reconcile accounts and clean up client books as needed
Prepare individual tax returns (1040)
Assist with small‑business tax filings as needed
Communicate with clients regarding payroll, bookkeeping, and tax questions
Maintain organized digital and paper files
Support the CPA with tax-season workflow and client deadlines

Requirements

Payroll processing experience
Bookkeeping experience (QuickBooks preferred)
Ability to work at least 30 hours/week during tax season
Ability to work part‑time (15–25 hours/week) during summer and early fall
Strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple client files
On‑site availability in Greensburg, Indiana

Preferred Qualifications

Experience preparing 1040s
Small‑business client experience
Experience communicating directly with clients
QuickBooks certification (not required)

Schedule

Tax season: Minimum 30 hours/week
Summer & early fall: Part‑time (15–25 hours/week)
Winter (Nov–Dec): Hours increase as needed
Flexible daytime schedule
On‑site role

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
