What We’re Looking For:
A compassionate, creative Music Therapist who can develop individualized patient activity plans using music and musical instruments to support assessment, treatment, and patient development.
Someone who can provide music instruction, monitor patient behavior and progress, and evaluate patient response to treatment for the age population served.
One year of experience in a medical or psychiatric setting.
Master’s degree in a health-related field preferred.
Active Music Therapist – Board Certification (MT-BC) granted by the Certification Board for Music Therapist (CBMT).
Knowledge of applicable HIPAA regulations, patient documentation standards, and safety practices appropriate to the role.

What You Will Do:
Develop patient activity plans involving music or musical instruments to enhance patient assessment and development. Provide music instruction, monitor patient behavior and progress, and periodically evaluate patient progress and response to treatment for the age population served, as defined in the department’s scope of service.
Complete patient assessments and treatments, including planning and implementing treatment programs based on assessment results, discharge goals, and interdisciplinary team goals.
Evaluate patient progress toward goals and document patient assessments, treatments, patient records, billing procedures, and productivity management according to department standards.
Provide patient and family teaching related to recreational interests and activities, adapt the environment to support patient progress, and organize group activities that promote social integration and leisure-time activities.
Work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive patient programs, discharge goals, team conferences, patient planning, and patient-related meetings.
Assess and support discharge planning activities and make appropriate recommendations regarding discharge needs.
Provide staff training, attend continuing education and mandatory meetings, function in multiple clinical areas, and work at multiple location sites as needed.
Participate in department management tasks, supervise and train therapy students, provide in-services and training for volunteers and hospital staff, and recommend process improvements, equipment, or supplies that may enhance the program.
Perform other duties and special projects as required, completing assigned projects by the due date.
