Full Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeping Project Supervisor to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic with a background in accounting and finance with at least 5 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience and experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounting duties and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This includes accounting for multiple industries, with proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Desktop, and experience with Xero would be a plus. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate bookkeeping activities across multiple projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients
Contact clients for documents and clarification on transactions
Reconcile bank, credit card, trade accounts
Conduct account analysis to maintain accurate financial records
Process payroll and related filings
Prepare financial statements, reports including budgets and audit documentation
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Book assets and liabilities
Perform balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting
Record journal entries and maintain accurate records of debits and credits
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Xero specifically, with understanding of Sage and other financial software a bonus for efficient bookkeeping
Maintain organized documentation for all financial transactions to facilitate audits

Skills

Prior experience managing multiple bookkeeping projects
Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience
Experience working in CPA firm or with multiple clients preferred
Excellent communication skills for financial report writing and collaborating with cross-functional teams on
Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software such as Xero
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Coordinate with external accountants for audits and tax preparation
An understanding of non-profit and governmental accounting practices beneficial
Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and general ledger reconciliation.
Ability to perform account analysis and prepare detailed financial reports.
Knowledge of tax regulations and experience in tax preparation is advantageous.
Strong attention to detail with effective organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple tasks effectively.
