Job Description

Seeking MRI Technologist who is passionate about the patient experience and committed to imaging excellence.

Full-time MRI Technologist

Monday thru Friday Alternating Saturdays

Various Shifts M-F 7am- 3:30pm; 10am-6:30pm; or 11:30am- 8pm

No Call

Responsibilities and Tasks

Communicates effectively with radiologists, supervisors, colleagues and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and exceptional image quality

Works with team members and departments to cohesively facilitate exceptional patient care

Communicates in a professional, courteous, respectful and compassionate manner with all patients and families

Demonstrates proficient usage of the diagnostic imaging equipment to provide MRI procedures to all patients, regardless of age, race or gender, while following departmental policies and procedures

Complies with all Advanced MRI Safety concepts to ensure patients, all staff members, visitors and community are safe within the facility

Performs MRI procedures safely on all patients and in accordance with ACR Standards of Care

· Patient Safety: Safely screens, identifies and monitors patient’s well-being during the scan in accordance with established protocols and guidelines, addresses patient concerns and ensures patient comfort

· Patient Preparation: Interviews patients regarding their medical history, explaining the MRI procedure, and positioning them correctly on the MRI scanner with compassion and respect

· Contrast Administration: Administers contrast agents (gadolinium) intravenously and thru port access when required, under the direct supervision of the radiologist

· Image Acquisition: Monitors the imaging process, continually evaluating image quality, and adjusting parameters and techniques as necessary to obtain optimal imaging

· Equipment Operation: Operates the MRI scanner, ensuring optimal image quality and safety

· Maintenance: Maintains the MRI equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety

Efficiently utilization of department supplies and resources

Maintains all registries, licenses and annual educational requirements to perform imaging procedures as mandated by the ACR, ARRT and the State of Florida

Complies with all JCAHO and ACR standards, policies and guidelines

Skills

Proficient in the utilization of Radiology software including RIS and PACS applications

Expertise in operating MRI scanners to acquire high quality images, GE, Siemens and/or Philips experience preferred

Understanding the intricacies of MRI techniques and protocols to achieve optimal results

Applies interpersonal skills to effectively communicate, prioritize patient care and safety

Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy

Effectively utilizes critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Strong ability to work independently and in a team environment

Qualifications

· Florida State License Required

· Graduate of an Accredited School of Radiologic Technology

· MRI Registry Certification

· ARRT Certification Required

· Associates Degree Required

· 1 to 2 years MRI experience preferred
