Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team. Foreclosure experience is required. Bankruptcy experience is a plus. Knowledge of NY Law is preferred. Perfect Practice experience is a plus. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of legal procedures. This role involves supporting attorneys in various areas of law, including immigration and securities law, by conducting thorough legal research, preparing documents, and assisting with client interactions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings.
- Assist attorneys in the preparation for court hearings and trials.
- Organize case files and maintain accurate records of all documentation.
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather pertinent information for cases.
- Manage deadlines for filing documents with courts and other agencies.
- Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies based on research findings.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to immigration and securities law.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Paralegal or in a similar legal support role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation practices.
- Proficiency in conducting legal research using various databases and resources.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in proofreading documents for accuracy.
- Familiarity with immigration law or securities law is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
