Full Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a GENERAL MANAGER in MS.

Position Overview

The General Manager will lead cross-functional teams, optimize processes, and maintain strong relationships with OEM customers while fostering a culture of safety, quality, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Provide overall leadership and direction for plant operations, including production, engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and safety.
Develop and execute strategies to meet production targets, quality standards, and on-time delivery for OEM and proprietary product lines.
Oversee heavy steel fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, and related processes in a multi-facility or large-scale manufacturing setting.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve productivity.
Manage P&L responsibilities, budgeting, cost control, and financial performance.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality certifications.
Build and mentor high-performing teams, promoting employee development and a positive workplace culture.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (4-year degree) in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is required.
Significant plant management experience (typically 8+ years) in a manufacturing environment, with direct responsibility for full plant operations.
OEM experience is mandatory — proven track record working with or supplying Original Equipment Manufacturers in a fabrication or component manufacturing setting.
Strong background in steel fabrication, heavy manufacturing, welding, machining, or related industrial processes.
Demonstrated success in leading teams of 100+ employees in a multi-shift operation.
Experience with Lean manufacturing, ERP systems, and data-driven decision making.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Deep knowledge of safety standards (OSHA) and quality systems (ISO, etc.).
Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and driving profitability.
Customer-focused mindset with experience managing OEM relationships and expectations.
