Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Part-Time Front Desk Receptionist to join our busy Podiatry practice. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional patient service while supporting the daily operations of our clinic. The ideal candidate will be a motivated team player with strong administrative skills, a passion for healthcare, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Your friendly demeanor and proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for our patients and staff alike.

Duties

Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
Verify patient insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle medical billing processes including collections and coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10)
Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software like Athenahealth or Dentrix, ensuring optimal clinic flow
Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, direct calls appropriately, and manage appointment rescheduling or cancellations
Maintain organized medical records, ensure documentation review for accuracy, and update patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Assist with office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing health information using office software like Microsoft Office and Eaglesoft
Support clinical staff by preparing intake forms, reviewing care plans, and assisting with administrative support related to patient care

Qualifications

Prior experience in a medical office setting or dental clinic experience preferred but not required; clinic experience is a plus
Strong computer skills including proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical billing procedures
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards
Excellent customer service skills with a professional phone manner and strong interpersonal communication abilities
Bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations
Office experience involving clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing multi-line phone systems
Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining accuracy in documentation review and insurance verification processes
