Description:
The University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) Department of English seeks qualified and committed instructors for the position of Adjunct Faculty in our First-Year Composition (FYC) or Technical Communication (TC) programs.
Depending on experience and departmental needs, hired instructors will teach one of the following schedules:
- Two or more in-person sections of ENG 1301: Composition I and/or ENG 1302: Composition II throughout a 16-week fall/spring semester
- Two or more in-person or online sections of TCOM 3302: Business and Technical Writing throughout a 16-week fall/spring semester
Adjunct faculty are eligible for benefits if they teach three or more 16-week sections in a semester.

Required Qualifications:
ENG 1300, 1301, and/or 1302: PhD or MA in English (or directly related discipline)
TCOM 3302: PhD or MA in Technical Communication (or directly related discipline)
Preferred Qualifications:
- ENG 1300-1301 (corequisite): Experience teaching college-level developmental English courses as instructor of record
- ENG 1301 and/or 1302: Experience teaching college-level FYC courses as instructor of record
- TCOM 3302: Experience teaching college-level professional/technical writing courses as instructor of record
