Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Full Time Bookkeeper/Office Assistant to join our dynamic team. This vital role combines comprehensive bookkeeping responsibilities with essential office support tasks, ensuring smooth financial operations and efficient administrative workflows. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting principles, proficiency with various financial software, and a proactive attitude to contribute to our organization’s success. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting expertise while supporting daily office functions in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks and AppFolio.
Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and payroll regulations.
Maintain accounts payable and receivable records, verifying invoices, processing payments, and tracking outstanding balances.
Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and balance sheets regularly to ensure financial accuracy.
Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Assist with governmental accounting tasks such as tax filings, grant reporting for non-profit entities, and compliance documentation.
Support budget preparation and monitor financial transactions to aid in effective financial planning.
Perform account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
Maintain organized financial records and ensure all documentation complies with internal policies and external regulations.
Provide general office support including filing, data entry, answering inquiries, and assisting with administrative projects as needed.

Experience

Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role within corporate or non-profit environments.
Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
Demonstrated ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
Proficiency in using financial software for reporting purposes; experience with GAAP standards is highly desirable.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Strong attention to detail coupled with the ability to analyze financial data critically.
Basic proficiency in 10-key typing for data entry tasks; familiarity with budgeting processes is advantageous.
