Housekeeper / Room Attendant

Job Overview

Americas Best Value Inn of New Paltz is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Housekeeper / Room Attendant to join our team.

Our housekeeping team plays a critical role in creating a positive guest experience. Cleanliness, attention to detail, and pride in your work directly impact guest satisfaction and the success of our hotel. We are looking for individuals who enjoy staying active, take ownership of their responsibilities, and work well as part of a team.

Schedule

Part-time Saturday and Sunday OR full-time Wednesday-Sunday
Start Time: 8:30 AM
End Time: Varies based on occupancy and business demand
Approximately 16 hour per week (part time) 40 hours per week (Full-Time)

Primary Responsibilities

Clean, prepare, and maintain assigned guest rooms and bathrooms
Make beds and replace bed linens according to company standards
Replace towels, toiletries, and guest room amenities
Vacuum carpets, mop floors, and remove debris
Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including tubs, showers, sinks, mirrors, and toilets
Dust, disinfect, and polish furniture, fixtures, and hard surfaces
Inspect guest rooms for cleanliness, functionality, and presentation
Report maintenance issues, damage, safety concerns, and missing items promptly
Properly use cleaning products, chemicals, and disinfectants
Maintain housekeeping carts, storage closets, and equipment
Assist with laundry operations when needed
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Participate in special cleaning projects as assigned

Housekeepers are often one of the most important parts of a guest's stay. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, maintain a positive attitude, and understand the important role they play in creating a welcoming environment for our guests.

Candidates should be comfortable interacting with guests in a friendly, professional, and helpful manner when needed.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

Walk, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, twist, and reach throughout the workday
Lift and carry up to 30 pounds with or without assistance
Push and maneuver housekeeping carts weighing up to 300 pounds
Work on stairs and use ladders when necessary
Perform repetitive hand and arm movements
Maintain attention to detail while working efficiently
See close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision as needed to inspect rooms properly
