Location: Lanham, MD | Manassas, VA | Columbia, MD
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site (Project-Based, In-Person Required)
Who We Are
J.E. Richards, Inc., a Phalcon company, is a leading commercial electrical contractor delivering hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, and large-scale commercial construction projects across the Mid-Atlantic.
Our teams operate with a QSP mindset—Quality, Safety, and Productivity—bringing field expertise, technical precision, and execution discipline to every project.
Why This Role Exists
This role is critical to driving schedule performance and project outcomes across complex electrical construction projects.
You will own and actively manage project schedules, align field execution with key milestones, and provide real-time visibility into risks and progress. This is not a reporting role—this is a project-driving role that directly impacts delivery, coordination, and profitability.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, maintain, and actively manage Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules using Primavera P6 across all phases of electrical construction
- Build and maintain baseline schedules aligned with contract milestones and execution strategy
- Identify and monitor the critical path, float erosion, and schedule risk, driving proactive mitigation strategies
- Lead schedule recovery planning, partnering with project managers and field leadership to address delays and protect key milestones
- Validate schedule accuracy through regular field engagement, ensuring alignment between planned and actual progress
- Develop and manage 2-, 4-, and 6-week look-ahead schedules to support field execution
- Plan and sequence electrical installation including underground rough-in, overhead rough-in, switchgear, bus duct, feeders, lighting, equipment set, testing, and energization
- Coordinate with general contractors to align with master project schedules and milestone commitments
- Incorporate long-lead procurement items (switchgear, generators, UPS systems, lighting packages) into schedule logic
- Support labor planning, resource loading, and production tracking
- Perform time impact analysis and delay documentation to support change management and claims prevention
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting tools to communicate schedule performance, risks, and milestones to field teams and executive leadership
- Lead and influence schedule discussions in project meetings, driving accountability and alignment across project teams
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in construction scheduling (electrical or MEP strongly preferred)
- Advanced experience with Primavera P6 (building and managing schedules, not just updating)
- Experience supporting commercial, mission-critical, or hyperscale data center projects strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of electrical construction sequencing and installation workflows
- Experience integrating schedules with general contractor master schedules
- Familiarity with prefabrication workflows and procurement-driven scheduling
- Experience working directly with project managers, superintendents, and field teams
- Ability to translate schedule data into clear, actionable insights for both field and executive audiences (Power BI or similar tools preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Electrical Field experience highly desireable
Work Environment
This role can be based out of our Lanham, MD, Manassas, VA, or Columbia, MD offices, with regular on-site presence required based on project assignment.
Project assignments may require travel between office and jobsite locations and active participation in construction environments.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to meet project-specific requirements, including U.S. citizenship where required by client or contract (e.g., certain Columbia, MD projects)
If you understand how to connect planning with real field execution, identify risks before they hit, and influence teams to stay aligned, this role puts you at the center of some of the most complex electrical projects in the region.
