Our plumbing division is growing and we need another technically elite field lead. Someone who knows plumbing
at the highest level and can translate that expertise into mentoring younger techs, running jobs, solving problems
on site, and making sure every job gets done right the first time.
THE ROLE
This is a field-first position. The Plumbing Field Lead is a working leader — someone who is on job sites every
day, running calls alongside technicians, solving complex plumbing problems hands-on, training younger
plumbers in real time, and ensuring every job meets the 409 Group standard of quality and professionalism.
You are the technical backbone of the plumbing division. When there's a complex sewer issue, a tough
re-pipe, a commercial job with complications, or a young tech who needs guidance — you are the answer.
This role does not require managing spreadsheets or reviewing financial reports. It requires showing up every day
with your tools, your knowledge, and your leadership — and making everyone around you better.
WHAT YOU'LL DO EVERY DAY
- Be in the field on active jobs — running calls, solving problems, inspecting work quality, and leading by
example.
- Walk jobs before technicians arrive to confirm scope, materials, and site readiness. No tech shows up
unprepared.
- Run complex service calls and installs yourself when needed — re-pipes, sewer work, water heaters,
trenchless repairs, and more.

- Train and mentor younger plumbers and apprentices on-site in real time — best practices, efficiency,
technique, and professionalism.
- Operate specialty equipment including sewer cameras, Jetters, sewer machines, and trenchless repair
systems.
- Inspect completed work for quality and code compliance before leaving any job site.
- Follow up with technicians throughout the day — make sure they have what they need and jobs are
progressing on schedule.
- Respond to after-hours and on-call support when needed to ensure customers are served and jobs get
done.
- Ensure technicians are in full company uniform and presenting professionally to every customer.
- Grab job site photos and quick videos of work in progress — before and afters, technicians explaining the
job — to support the company marketing team. Takes five minutes and makes a big impact.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition — know what you have, where it is, and that it's ready to run.
- Coordinate with other division leaders to ensure cross-trade jobs get done efficiently.
- Be available for on-call rotation and weekend service when scheduled — follow up on every missed call and
lead with urgency.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Master Plumber license strongly preferred. Strong Technical Journeyman with extensive experience will be
considered.
- Minimum 10+ years of hands-on plumbing experience across residential and commercial service and
installation.
- Deep technical knowledge — sewer/drain, water heaters, re-pipes, gas lines, trenchless repair, commercial
plumbing.
- Experience operating cameras, Jetters, sewer machines, and specialty equipment.
- A communicator — responds promptly, follows through, and never leaves a customer or teammate waiting.
- Professional in appearance, attitude, and conduct — you set the standard others follow.
- Someone who leads from the front and does not ask anyone to do something they wouldn't do themselves.
- High integrity — when you say something is handled, it's handled. When you say you'll be somewhere,
you're there.
- Willing to relocate to or commute to the Southeast Texas area if not already local.
