Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Setup / Machinist for Vertical, Horizontal and Mazak and Integrex Lathes and play a vital role in producing high-precision metal components and castings. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to ensure efficient and accurate machining processes. Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering top-quality products while maintaining safety and productivity standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a great team dedicated to excellence.

Duties

Prepare and set up CNC machines, including lathes and milling machines, ensuring proper tooling, fixtures, and workholding devices are in place for each job.
Program CNC machines using Mazatrol or G-code / M-code ensuring precise execution of machining instructions.
Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequences.
Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools to verify part quality during setup and production.
Conduct quality inspections on machined parts to ensure compliance with specifications utilizing GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards and measurement instruments.
Troubleshoot machining issues by adjusting machine parameters or tooling setups to optimize performance and maintain high-quality output.
Maintain a clean, organized work area while adhering to safety protocols related to machine operation, tooling handling, and electrical discharge machining processes.

Skills

Proficiency in CNC programming languages including Mazatrol, G-code and M-code for various CNC milling machines and lathes.
Strong knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as Solid Works and general blueprint reading skills for interpreting mechanical drawings.
Experience with CAM software for creating efficient tool paths aligned with manufacturing goals.
Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining tools, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and tooling management.
Familiarity with CNC control systems like Fanuc or similar interfaces for machine setup and operation.
Ability to perform precision measurement using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control purposes.
Knowledge of manufacturing principles including lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Mechanical blueprint interpretation skills combined with basic math skills necessary for accurate setup adjustments.
Experience in manual machining processes such as lathe work or grinding when needed for secondary operations or troubleshooting.
Understanding of CNC quality inspection techniques to ensure parts meet strict specifications before release.

Our hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 5am-3pm. With some Fridays if needed.
