Full Job Description

Job Summary
Provides management, leadership and direction to all Manufacturing departments in accordance with the annual Business Plan.

Coordinates and tracks all manufacturing activities, including interaction with other departments, in order to achieve target levels for all operational and financial KPI’s and to meet all customer needs, both internal and external.

Essential Job Functions

Daily management of manufacturing operations focused on achievement of target levels for all KPI’s including P&L. This includes tracking and reporting of actual performance vs. targets for all KPI’s as well as urgent initiation of corrective actions whenever necessary to re-direct resources, activities, and focus as needed
Champion execution of all initiatives in Manufacturing focused on Continuous Improvement and Cost Reduction. This includes promoting development of best-in-class manufacturing for Quality, Cost, and Time.
Provide management development of Supervisory staff. This includes providing all ongoing coaching and performance feedback necessary to drive success in all SQCT areas as well as teambuilding
Promote and facilitate daily communication between Manufacturing and all other departments
Establish and execute operational plans to achieve SQCT (Safety, Quality, Cost Time) targets and all other KPI’s. This includes development and maintenance of a structured, systematic process for managing and controlling all Manufacturing operations to meet or exceed performance targets
Plan for and manage direct labor optimization, both high-level and daily
Demonstrate the ability to be a decision-maker and a change agent, appropriately confronting challenges and problems and effectively overcoming/resolving them
Analyze data related to Manufacturing operations (Safety, productivity, labor, overtime, scrap, inventory levels, Fulfillment Rate, OTD, etc.), developing and executing corrective actions as needed to achieve all KPI’s.
Proactive planning and execution of counter-measures to avoid negative impacts to the business
Take an enthusiastic, hands-on role in planning, execution, and follow-up of Continuous Improvement projects and activities

Qualifications

Applicable Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent work experience
Minimum 5-10 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably metal machining, with P&L accountability. Includes a minimum 3-5 years of experience managing and improving manufacturing operations including direct labor
Result-driven candidate; must demonstrate enthusiasm, passion, and a sense of urgency along with strong interpersonal, collaborative, and leadership skills
Fast learner, hungry to understand all aspects of the business in order to support growth and success of the entire organization.
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written; honesty and integrity are a must
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point required
Knowledge of, experience in, and success with application of Continuous Improvement tools, specifically Lean Manufacturing is required
Understanding of MRP systems functionality desired

Notes:

1. Other job responsibilities will be assigned by management as required and as appropriate to the position.

2. At times, weekend work may be required to accomplish all tasks on-time and/or to complete work related to competing priorities.

3. Some travel may be required to suppliers, other company facilities, to customers, etc. from time-to-time (5-10%)

ENVIRONMENT:

Work time will be spent in a standard office environment with manufacturing plant exposure. Temperature and noise may vary depending on external environmental conditions. Lack of attention and carelessness may result in personal injury to self or others. Personal protective equipment is required on the production floor.
