Our team is dedicated to supporting adventurers worldwide through our creative solutions.

Job Overview

Adventure Wagon is seeking a dedicated part-time HR Manager to own the full scope of HR. This role's primary focus is learning and development, leadership growth, and building a culture of teamwork, alongside overseeing core HR functions to ensure compliance and support engagement.

As a lean business, we need someone scrappy and resourceful who can build great programs with free or low-cost tools. This is a chance to genuinely shape our company culture and help drive the organization's growth.

Responsibilities

Learning & Development

Design and deliver training sessions and workshops using free or low-cost tools and resources
Develop leadership capabilities across the team through coaching, feedback, and practical growth opportunities
Identify skill gaps and create practical, budget-friendly learning solutions

Culture & Teamwork

Plan and lead team-building activities and culture initiatives
Partner with leadership to reinforce and exemplify company values
Gather employee feedback and turn it into action

Core HR

Recruiting, onboarding, and employee records
Policy compliance and employee relations
Support performance reviews and goal-setting

Experience

At least 5 years of HR experience overall, including 2+ years in an HR Manager, HRBP, or other senior HR role
Demonstrated expertise in talent management, employee relations, and HR legal compliance, including knowledge of employment & labor law
Strong background in performance management processes
Proven experience leading and developing trainings
Experience delivering candid, honest feedback
Excellent communication abilities, with the ability to build quality relationships and trust across all levels of the organization, from line level to owner
Strong organizational skills, with the capacity for process improvement and change management
Familiarity with HR systems (we use Gusto)
Resourceful — skilled at finding free tools, templates, and creative solutions on a tight budget
Comfortable working independently in a part-time role

Also important

SHRM or HRCI certification preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred; an additional 3 years of HR experience is a suitable alternative

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
