Full Job Description

Join a Hospice Team Where Music Brings Comfort, Connection, and Meaning

At Everlight Hospice, we believe exceptional end-of-life care extends beyond managing symptoms—it is about honoring each person's life story and creating moments of peace, dignity, and connection. We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and highly skilled full-time Board Certified Music Therapist to become an integral member of our interdisciplinary hospice team to help us fulfill our promise to be Ever Present and Ever Caring.

As our Music Therapist, you will provide individualized music therapy interventions that address the physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones throughout the Portland metropolitan area.

What You'll Do:

Complete music therapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide evidence-based music therapy interventions for patients with terminal illness.
Support symptom management, including pain, anxiety, agitation, dyspnea, and emotional distress through music therapy.
Facilitate life review, legacy work, reminiscence, and meaningful family interactions.
Provide support during anticipatory grief and bereavement.
Collaborate closely with nurses, social workers, chaplains, hospice aides, physicians, and volunteers as an active member of the interdisciplinary team.
Document visits accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
Participate in IDG meetings and contribute to patient-centered care planning.
Travel throughout the Portland metro area to provide in-home, facility, and memory care visits.

Required Qualifications

Active Oregon Licensed Music Therapist (LMT).
Current Music Therapist–Board Certified (MT-BC) credential.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Music Therapy from an accredited program.
Valid Oregon driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary team.
Hospice or palliative care experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with dementia, neurological disorders, oncology, or medically complex patients.
Knowledge of Medicare hospice philosophy and interdisciplinary care.
Comfort serving patients from diverse cultural, spiritual, and religious backgrounds.
