Full Job Description

Revenue Cycle Billing/Medical Data Specialist (SW Portland)

We are a busy out-patient surgery center with an immediate position for an experienced medical billing specialist with admissions experience who is looking for an opportunity to be part of a team-oriented health care company. Come join us and work in a fast-paced office where your contributions are valued and rewarded.

This is a full-time position, working Monday thru Friday on site.

Your responsibilities will include patient registration, scheduling, verification of benefits & patient financial counseling. Your responsibilities will also include data capture and reporting to our accrediting bodies, working the aging reports, customer service by phone (including reception duties), a knowledge of multi-specialty coding and appeals is a definite plus along with prior credentialing experience. This role will work alongside our Admissions/Patient Scheduler. Physician Credentialing is an aspect of this role.

Applicants must have at least 2 years of experience in medical billing, strong EOB interpretation skills and strong communication skills to work with insurance claims departments. Knowledge of HIPAA requirements. Must be proficient with Windows-based computer systems, including Excel, billing software, Outlook. Must be comfortable using all necessary office equipment. Good writing and math skills also a must.

Compensation is commensurate with abilities and experience. Benefits include paid employee health and dental insurance, two weeks paid vacation, sick time, and 401k retirement plan.

Excellent customer service skills are a must. Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with patients, insurance companies, and co-workers. Excellent organizational and problem solving skills. This position requires a strong work ethic and high levels of concentration and focus. Must also be willing and able to take on and perform other duties and special projects as necessary. Prior credentialing experience is a plus!
