Position Title: Facility Coordinator
Position Summary:
Incumbent serves as Facility Coordinator Manager for the Monroe County Jail, responsible for preventive maintenance checks and cleanliness of facility and grounds.
Qualifications:
Education and experience-
- High school diploma or HSE.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Certifications-
- Ability to complete the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) Basic Jail Academy 40-hour
- Training course and training assigned by the Sheriff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities-
- Ability to meet all Department hiring requirements, including passage of a drug test.
- Working knowledge of and ability to make practical applications of basic cleaning, sanitation, and safety policies and procedures and universal health precautions including OHSA guidelines, and ability to ensure safety of self and others.
- Working knowledge of maintenance practices, building upkeep, and basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical, with ability to apply knowledge to analyze and diagnose causes of mechanical and electrical malfunctions and complete appropriate referrals to the County Fleet and Building Manager or Commissioner Designee.
- Working knowledge of Department bloodborne pathogen exposure reporting procedures, and ability to protect oneself from contracting infectious diseases by avoiding high risk environments and by having knowledge of and utilizing universal health precautions.
- Ability to properly operate, a variety of tools and equipment required for cleaning and sanitation.
- Ability to physically perform duties, including, standing/walking for long periods, lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling objects, reaching/bending, crouching/kneeling, climbing ladders, working in confined areas and awkward positions, handling/grasping/fingering objects, close/far vision, depth perception, speaking clearly, and hearing sounds/communications.
- Ability to properly operate standard office equipment, including, computer, printer, and telephone.
- Ability to work alone with minimum supervision and with others in a team environment.
- Ability to work on several tasks at the same time and under time pressure.
- Ability to competently serve the public with diplomacy and respect, including occasional encounters with hostile or irate individuals.
Base Rate: $27.29 hourly
