Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Controller to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a dynamic business environment and values both collaboration and flexibility. We are a well-established commodity trading and risk management firm based in Manchester, NH, serving commercial clients throughout the energy industry.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, combining in-office collaboration with the flexibility to work from home.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions
Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
Prepare ACH and wire payments (with management approval)
Perform bank and account reconciliations
Assist with monthly and year-end financial reporting
Support budgeting, cash flow management, and other accounting activities
Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with company policies
Manage and process weekly payroll through the company's existing Paychex system.

Qualifications

Strong bookkeeping and accounting experience
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Controller-level experience is a plus

Schedule: Approximately 30 hours per week. Candidates must be available Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to support time-sensitive accounting and payment activities. Remaining hours may be worked flexibly.

Pay: $50,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Manchester, NH 03101
