Produce Clerk- Produce Department

At Miles Farmers Market our staff members are more than an ID Number or a set of hands, they are a part of our Family! Our passionate and hardworking employees are given the opportunity to learn and grow from daily experiences with customers, senior staff members and other professionals within the food industry in order to become more effective, knowledgeable and contributing members of our staff.

Applicants for the Produce Clerk in our Produce Department will be doing a range of jobs including stocking the displays out in the store, prepping or trimming items in the back as well as wrapping items to go out on the displays. Produce Clerks are very important to us because they help assist customers in the largest department in the store. Our store was built on fresh produce and people travel from great distances for our selection, service and quality. Applicants for this position will be expected to have a good, friendly attitude, work well within a team setting and must be reliable and punctual. This position is a full time job (5 days per week) with a salary of $14-18/hour (depending on experience and ability) and does require weekend and holiday hours. (We are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day and Easter have shortened hours on the summer holidays). We are extremely fair and competitive with wages being a family-owned business and we like to reward the people who help out Miles Farmers Market the most! Our employees are also given the chance to move up within the company as they display the necessary skills and passion needed for the desired position!

While previous produce or food experience is definitely a plus, it is not required. We are willing and able to train individuals who show the desire to learn and listen from our veteran staff. Applicants for this position will work with one of our experienced produce staff to learn our process of setting and rotating displays as well as how to handle different customer questions and situations. As you become more comfortable with the assigned tasks you will be given opportunities to do things on your own and show that you understand the training you were given. Our Produce leaders are always there to assist with any questions the applicant may have as they learn the different aspects of the job.
