Front Desk Agent – TownePlace Suites by Marriott

The Front Desk Agent is the first point of contact for our guests and plays an important role in creating a welcoming, comfortable, and memorable experience. This position assists guests throughout their stay while accurately completing reservations, check-ins, check-outs, payments, and other front-office duties using Marriott’s FOSSE property management system.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Welcome guests with a friendly, professional attitude and provide efficient service throughout their stay.
Use FOSSE to create, modify, confirm, and cancel guest reservations.
Review daily arrivals, departures, special requests, Marriott Bonvoy information, and room availability.
Complete guest check-ins by confirming reservations, verifying identification, securing an approved form of payment, assigning rooms, and issuing room keys according to hotel security procedures.
Process guest check-outs, review folios, post charges, collect payments, and resolve billing questions or discrepancies within authorized guidelines.
Use FOSSE to assign and block rooms, process room moves, document guest preferences, and manage early arrivals, late check-outs, extensions, and unexpected stayovers.
Accurately record guest requests, complaints, incidents, and important shift information in the appropriate system or communication log.
Recognize Marriott Bonvoy members and provide eligible benefits according to current brand standards.
Answer telephone calls professionally and assist guests with reservations, hotel amenities, directions, local information, and general questions.
Respond promptly and courteously to guest concerns. Take ownership of problems, follow up to confirm resolution, and involve management when necessary.
Communicate room-status changes, maintenance concerns, special requests, and guest needs to Housekeeping, Maintenance, management, and other departments.
Process cash, credit card, direct-bill, and other approved transactions according to hotel procedures.
Balance the assigned cash drawer and complete required end-of-shift reports, deposits, paperwork, and transaction reconciliation.
Run and review FOSSE reports, including arrivals, departures, room status, payment authorization, and other daily operational reports.
Sell available rooms to walk-in guests and provide accurate information about room types, rates, hotel amenities, and policies.
Receive and securely document guest packages, mail, and lost-and-found items according to hotel procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk, lobby, and guest-service area.
Follow TownePlace Suites by Marriott brand standards, guest privacy requirements, payment-security procedures, key-control policies, and hotel safety and emergency procedures.
Complete night-audit reports or overnight front-desk responsibilities when scheduled and properly trained.
Assist with other reasonable hotel duties as assigned by the Front Office Manager or General Manager.

Qualifications

Previous hotel front-desk, hospitality, or customer-service experience is preferred.
Previous experience using Marriott FOSSE is strongly preferred. Applicants with comparable hotel property-management-system experience and the ability to learn FOSSE may also be considered.
Strong communication, customer-service, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure, and work independently with attention to detail.
Comfortable handling payments and working with computers, telephones, and hotel software.
Reliable attendance and availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Overnight availability may be required depending on hotel needs.
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and perform the essential duties of the position, with reasonable accommodations when applicable.
