Compensation Range: $22.00 - $25.35

Realty Resources Management LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Assistant to support the day-to-day work of our Accounting Department.

This role is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, comfortable working with numbers, and interested in building experience in accounting and affordable housing operations. You’ll assist with accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, budgeting, audit preparation, and other accounting responsibilities that support a portfolio of more than 80 properties.

What You’ll Do

Assist the Accounting Department with daily financial and administrative tasks.
Enter and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable information.
Complete bank reconciliations for assigned property accounts.
Enter approved general ledger transactions.
Assist Property Managers with preparing annual budgets for USDA, HUD, Maine State Housing, and other affordable housing programs.
Record and manage monthly mortgage splits, tax funding, and insurance funding.
Prepare property move-out reports, special claims reports, and fuel-cost spreadsheets.
Complete a variety of account and property reconciliations.
Prepare year-end files and assist with auditor requests.
Maintain accurate financial records, reports, and filing systems.
Cross-train in accounts payable and accounts receivable to provide department coverage.
Communicate professionally with coworkers, property teams, vendors, contractors, and outside businesses.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Accounting, bookkeeping, office administration, or related coursework preferred.
Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative experience is helpful.
QuickBooks experience is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
Accurate data-entry, recordkeeping, and basic math skills.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
Willingness to learn, adapt, and cross-train in multiple accounting functions.
Professional judgment and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to bend, kneel, reach, squat, and climb as needed.
