Full Job Description

Eyes on the Square is a beautiful, modern, upscale, Christian-owned private optometry practice and optical shop on the Downtown Bentonville Square. We are hiring for an experienced optician/eyewear consultant. Full and part-time opportunities are available.

Pay will be $32/hr plus production bonuses.

The candidate we're seeking is both professional and bubbly! This person needs to be a natural communicator, fashion forward, and able to think on their feet to problem solve. This role requires someone who is organized, detail oriented, and enthusiastic about excellence and learning new things. Optical experience is required, but we’re looking for great character and a willingness to learn above all else!

As an optician/eyewear consultant you will:

Help customers choose the best frames and lenses based on their prescription needs, face shape, style, and lifestyle.
Take and record measurements, adjust, repair, and fit eyewear, and carry out these tasks with accuracy. (Assisted by the latest technologies, such as Optikam)
Verify that finished eyewear meets our standards, as well as customer requests
Educate customers on prescription terminology, lens options, our brands, and product offerings. We have many standardized office verbiages that make this clear, consistent, and concise.
Place, fill, and dispense orders for glasses and contact lenses, while accurately recording all information into electronic health records software (RevolutionEHR).
Problem solve, bounce from one guest to another, and provide consistently excellent customer service to all of our customers/patients.
Apply/calculate insurance benefits/discounts
Submit insurance claims for all eligible optical orders.

Everyone on our team collaborates on the following tasks as needed:

Greeting guests
Scheduling patients
Pulling insurance benefits (vision and medical)
Communicating with patients via phone, text, fax, email, and occasionally mail
Checking patients in and out
Reviewing paperwork
Entering in new inventory
Maintain clean and organized work spaces as well as cleaning the office (a team effort)

We are located on the historic Downtown Bentonville Square.

Closed Saturdays & Sundays
