Full Job Description

**Overview**

We are actively seeking a dynamic and dedicated Nurse Supervisor to lead and enhance nursing services within our esteemed healthcare agency. This vital position entails the oversight of patient care, management of nursing staff, and assurance of compliance with healthcare regulations, all while upholding the highest standards of clinical excellence. The Nurse Supervisor will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative work environment that prioritizes patient safety, quality care, and operational efficiency. **Duties**

**Supervise and Coordinate Daily Operations:** Oversee the nursing team to facilitate the effective delivery of patient care, ensuring that all operations are executed smoothly and efficiently throughout the agency. This responsibility includes strategizing workflows and optimizing resources to enhance patient experiences.

**Lead and Mentor Nursing Staff:** Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance evaluations for nursing personnel to promote professional development and team cohesion while ensuring compliance with best practices.

**Oversee Patient Care Activities:** Manage patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and oversee client medication to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This includes the implementation of care plans and the necessary adjustments based on patient progress.

**Ensure Regulatory Compliance:** Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, state and federal healthcare laws, long-term care regulations, and internal Agency policies pertaining to medical documentation and nursing practices. Regularly review and update procedures to uphold compliance standards.

**Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams:** Engage with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate comprehensive discharge planning, case management, diagnostic evaluations, and utilization reviews. This collaboration aims to optimize care pathways for patients and ensure a seamless transition throughout their care journey.

**Maintain Medical Records:** Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, such as Caresmartz360, to accurately document and preserve patient records. Ensure data integrity and confidentiality while adhering to established medical documentation standards.

**Requirements**

**Licensure and Certification:** A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with current state certification is required.

**Experience Required:** Demonstrated supervisory or nurse management experience in home health care or long-term care settings is essential, reflecting a proven ability to lead nursing teams effectively.

**Knowledge Base:** Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, human physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation procedures is crucial for guiding nursing practices.

**Regulatory Understanding:** A thorough understanding of home health care regulations, including HIPAA, long-term care legislation, and workers' compensation laws, is vital for ensuring compliance and best practices.

**Communication Skills:** Excellent managerial communication skills are imperative to effectively supervise diverse teams. The ability to articulate expectations clearly while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety is essential.

**Diverse Patient Care Experience:** Experience working with a diverse range of patient populations, including patients with memory or dementia care needs, and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges, is highly desirable.
