Teens Against Killing Everywhere (TAKE) is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly organized Senior Case Manager to lead comprehensive case management services within the YouthBuild St. Clair County Program.
This leadership position is responsible for coordinating participant services, supervising case management activities, ensuring program compliance, and providing intensive support to opportunity youth ages 16–24 as they pursue educational attainment, workforce readiness, leadership development, and long-term self-sufficiency.

About YouthBuild St. Clair County
YouthBuild St. Clair County is an integrated education, workforce development, and leadership program serving opportunity youth ages 16–24. Participants earn their high school diploma or equivalent while receiving occupational skills training, leadership development, supportive services, and career coaching designed to prepare them for employment, apprenticeships, military service, postsecondary education, and lifelong success.
Position Summary
The Senior Case Manager provides leadership for participant case management across multiple workforce development initiatives. The position ensures participants receive coordinated, individualized, and trauma-informed services while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and organizational requirements.
The Senior Case Manager supervises participant service planning, monitors progress toward measurable outcomes, coordinates supportive services, and collaborates with education, workforce, and clinical staff to ensure participant success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Case Manager will:
- Lead comprehensive case management services for YouthBuild participants.
- Conduct participant intake, orientation, eligibility verification, and assessments.
- Develop and maintain Individual Development Plans (IDPs), Individual Employment Plans (IEPs), and service strategies.
- Coordinate educational, employment, supportive service, and leadership development activities.
- Administer assessments including Casey Life Skills, DLA-20, career interest inventories, and other program evaluation tools.
- Utilize the Jobs for the Future (JFF) Best Bets Career Counseling Framework to guide participant career planning.
- Monitor participant attendance, academic progress, measurable skill gains, credential attainment, and employment outcomes.
- Coordinate supportive services including transportation, housing referrals, childcare, mental health referrals, emergency assistance, and community resources.
- Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions with participants.
- Maintain detailed case notes and documentation in Illinois workNet (IWN) and other required data systems.
- Ensure participant files meet federal, state, and grant compliance standards.
- Coordinate participant case conferences with instructors, workforce staff, counselors, and partner agencies.
- Assist participants experiencing barriers including homelessness, justice involvement, trauma, poverty, substance use, mental health concerns, and family instability.
- Provide crisis intervention and referrals as appropriate.
- Monitor participant retention and develop intervention strategies to improve persistence and program completion.
- Supervise and provide guidance to Case Managers and participant support staff as assigned.
- Prepare reports for leadership and funding agencies.
- Participate in recruitment events, orientations, graduations, employer visits, community meetings, and outreach activities.
- Support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Leadership Responsibilities
The Senior Case Manager will:
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Case Managers.
- Review participant files for compliance and quality assurance.
- Monitor participant caseload distribution.
- Ensure timely completion of documentation and assessments.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary case staffing meetings.
- Assist leadership in developing participant engagement and retention strategies.
- Support implementation of organizational policies and grant requirements.

- QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, Sociology, or a closely related field.
Preferred
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Public Administration, Human Services, or related field.
- Illinois Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
- Experience with YouthBuild, WIOA, DOL, DCEO, or other workforce development programs.
- Experience using Illinois workNet (IWN) or similar case management systems.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, strengths-based case management, and positive youth development.
