Full Job Description

7 Hills Brewing Tap House is seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and are eager to bring creativity to the table while ensuring smooth kitchen operations, we want you to join our team!

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead Kitchen Operations

Manage the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring the team delivers high-quality dishes with consistency and efficiency.
Oversee food preparation, portioning, and cooking to ensure that all food items meet our quality standards.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure that the kitchen complies with all health and safety regulations.

2. Inventory & Cost Control

Manage food costs by maintaining appropriate inventory levels, minimizing waste, and ensuring that all purchases align with the restaurant’s budget.
Conduct regular inventory audits and maintain proper records to ensure accurate accounting.

3. Team Leadership & Development

Train, mentor, and motivate a talented team of chefs, line cooks, and kitchen staff to work together efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Create weekly staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts while maintaining labor costs.
Lead by example, fostering a positive and collaborative kitchen environment, addressing any conflicts, and maintaining morale.

4. Quality Control & Food Safety

Ensure all food meets the high standards of 7 Hills in terms of taste, presentation, and consistency.
Implement and maintain rigorous standards for food safety and sanitation, ensuring all staff are trained and compliant with local health regulations.
Oversee equipment maintenance and cleanliness, addressing repairs or replacements when necessary.

5. Cross-Department Collaboration

Work closely with front-of-house managers to ensure smooth communication and seamless service between kitchen and dining areas.
Participate in event planning, including beer dinners, tastings, and special events, to create memorable culinary experiences that pair with our craft beers.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years as a Kitchen Manager in a high-volume restaurant or brewpub.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team while maintaining a positive work culture.
Business Acumen: Understanding of food cost management, budgeting, and inventory control.
Problem-Solving: Ability to stay calm under pressure, think quickly, and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to foster collaboration between the kitchen manager and front-of-house staff.
Knowledge of Food Safety: Comprehensive understanding of HACCP, local food safety regulations, and kitchen sanitation practices.
