Join Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles as a Donation Pickup Driver and help turn donated items into affordable home improvement opportunities for local families. In this hands on role, you will drive a stake bed or box truck throughout the Greater Los Angeles area, pick up donated furniture and building materials, and safely deliver them to our ReStore warehouse.
- Safely operate a stake-bed or box truck along assigned pickup routes.

Review daily schedules and arrive at donation pickup locations on time.

Inspect donations and confirm that items meet Habitat LA’s acceptance guidelines.

Provide courteous and professional service to donors and customers.

Safely load, secure, transport, and unload furniture, appliances, building materials, and other donated merchandise.

Complete donation receipts, route paperwork, vehicle inspection reports, and other required documentation accurately.

Provide clear direction to the Driver’s Assistant during loading, unloading, and pickups.

Follow all traffic laws, vehicle-safety procedures, and organizational policies.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.

Assist with warehouse duties, including organizing, moving, and staging donated merchandise.
Represent Habitat LA’s mission and values positively in the community.

- At least one year of experience driving a box truck, stake-bed truck, delivery vehicle, or similar commercial vehicle.

Valid California driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Experience with delivery routes, donation pickups, moving, warehouse operations, or customer service preferred.

Ability to safely lift and move heavy or bulky merchandise with assistance and appropriate equipment.

Strong customer-service, communication, and teamwork skills.
-
Ability to complete paperwork accurately and follow assigned schedules.

Dependable, punctual, and committed to safe driving and material-handling practices.
-
Forklift certification or OSHA safety training is preferred but not required.

Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
-
Availability to work the position’s required schedule, including weekends when needed.
- Frequently it is required to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.

May occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. alone, team lift 100 lbs.

Frequent movement around the office/warehouse/ReStore may be necessary.

Regular work with computers, including keyboards, mouses, and screens.

Working conditions consist of high temperature-controlled workspaces.

Noise levels are moderate to loud depending on the work area.
