Full Job Description

PART-TIME, PERMANENT-SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS

Make a difference! Apply your talents and skills to assist one client with developmental disabilities in their comfortable, centrally located home in a quiet Bellingham neighborhood. Types of support you will provide include Activities of Daily Living (meeting client's daily needs specified in their individual instruction and support plan, including personal care) and participating in community outings (see full job description at www.puffinisland.org).

HIRING IMMEDIATELY!!
Compensation: $24-26/hour for EXPERIENCED, fully trained and certified staff - HCA Certified or HCA
Reimbursement for re-certification and required training costs are included. 30 hours of paid client specific training will be provided with the expectation of a long-term commitment (this is not a summer or seasonal job - this is a permanent position with potential for full time)

SCHEDULE:
Consistent weekly shifts - every Saturday, Sunday from 9a-7p.
Additional hours are also available during the week

Responsible, qualified, dependable, caring, experienced, compassionate professional needed for one-on-one care in client's private, in a single family residence (not a group home, not an apartment)

Experience with adults with developmental disabilities helpful.

QUALIFICATIONS
Home Care Aide (Certified) with an active license, in good standing
Acceptable Washington criminal background check and FBI fingerprint check
Valid Washington State Driver's License
At least 23 years old with a high school diploma or the equivalent and a minimum of 5 years HCA experience.

Strong communication skills including proficiency in understanding, reading & writing in English
Successful candidate must be willing to complete a confidential, employer-paid, Fitness for Duty evaluation including drug testing (through Whatcom Occupational Health)
