Full Job Description

The Personal Injury Paralegal will assist attorney(s) by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, fact checking; and trial preparation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

First point of contact for initial intakes, requiring knowledge of liability as well as knowledge of possible insurance claims.
Open new cases in the system and notify all interested parties including knowledge of Medicare and other health insurance subrogation requirements.
Assist attorneys with case management from case inception through trial preparation including hearings, depositions, and trail with minimal supervision.
Ensure medical records and investigation items are ordered and able to provide succinct summations for medical chronologies.
Draft correspondence, doctor's letters, demands, and legal documents including pleadings and motions (according to judicial procedures), affidavits, and interrogatories.
Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize.
Attentive to detail and accurate.
Discretion and trustworthiness due to frequent contact with confidential information and sensitive subject matter.
Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information in English.
Strong math skills including the ability to understand and perform basic arithmetic functions.
Familiarity with local, state, and federal court litigation and E-filing procedures desired

Pay: $5,000.00 - $6,000.00 per month
