Payroll Specialist

Bethpage, NY

Full-Time: Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm, 35 hours/week

Salary: $29.25 - $32/hr

What You'll Do:

Process and audit high-volume biweekly payroll, ensuring accurate employee pay, timekeeping, and coding across departments, cost centers, and job codes.
Review and maintain payroll data, including new hires, terminations, leaves, pay rate changes, PTO balances, department allocations, garnishments, and third-party sick pay.
Reconcile payroll registers, prepare payroll reports and general ledger journal entries, and ensure timely, accurate payroll processing.
Process off-cycle payrolls, manual checks, travel reimbursements, referral bonuses, taxable fringe benefits, and termination accrual payouts.
Collaborate with managers to resolve payroll discrepancies, provide guidance on payroll policies and procedures, and follow up on outstanding payroll matters.
Support payroll operations through cross-training, special projects, process improvements, and other assigned responsibilities.

What Makes You Great:

High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
3+ years of experience in a payroll environment
Proficiency in MS Office suite and ability to learn new systems quickly
Experience with ADP systems is a plus
Effective communication and customer service skills with strong follow-up ability
Exhibit a sense of urgency in completion of tasks, flexible for additional hours
