Upscale Italian & French Themed Restaurant

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our culinary team at Nonna's Trattoria, an upscale restaurant specializing in Italian and French cuisine. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. We are looking for a reliable, primarily morning & weekend working, line cook. Some evenings will be scheduled but Thursday - Sunday morning availability required.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, preparing meats, and other food preparation tasks as needed.
Assist with cooking and plating dishes according to our restaurant’s recipes and standards.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following all safety and sanitation guidelines.
Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
Follow directions from the Executive Chef and Sous Chef accurately and efficiently.
Assist in inventory management and restocking of kitchen supplies.
Perform routine kitchen cleaning tasks, including dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and garbage disposal.
Adapt to various duties in the kitchen as required, maintaining flexibility and readiness.

Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Line Cook or Prep Cook in a restaurant setting.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, lunch, dinner shifts, weekends, and Sunday mornings.
Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow directions effectively.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for cooking.

Desired (but not required) Qualifications:

Experience with ordering product and maintaining vendor relationships.
Knowledge of food costing and portion control.
Scheduling and staff coordination experience.
Inventory management skills.
Contribution to menu development and recipe creation.
