Full Job Description

Pathways for Independence is looking for passionate Direct Support Professionals willing to become a part of our amazing team and make a difference in the lives of people with different abilities in the Youngstown-Warren area. The Direct Support Professionals are responsible for assisting clients with daily activities, providing transportation, and participating in recreational activities.

The successful candidates must:

have open availability for 12-hour shifts (daytime preferred)
have a reliable vehicle
have strong communication and problem-solving skills
be able to work collaboratively with other team members
have a minimum of a 2-years of experience as a direct support professional or in a similar role
have the ability to multitask
promote integrity, honesty, compassion, and respect.

Qualifications:

At least 2 years of experience as a direct support professional or in a similar role
High school diploma
Valid driver's license and car insurance
Personal, reliable vehicle
Fewer than 6 points in the last two years on your motor vehicle record
Can push, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs
Certification in Medication Administration 1 and 3 (preferred)
First AID/CPR (preferred)

What will you do?

Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
Be a role model, promote positive teamwork, and assist with staff development/training as assigned
Supervise and assist individuals in all aspects of his/her life
Complete various household tasks, including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment
Provide personal care assistance and medication administration
