Overview

Darien manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Control Systems Technician / PLC Programmer to join its team. This position will focus on designing, programming, maintaining, and improving control systems for manufacturing equipment, including custom in-house machinery and future automation projects.

This is a great opportunity for someone with PLC programming and system design experience who enjoys troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working independently in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Design and program controllers for manufacturing equipment and custom-built machines
Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve existing machine control systems
Support automation projects and equipment upgrades
Work with PLC programming, system design, and control components
Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and other departments on process improvements
Diagnose equipment issues and implement practical, effective solutions
Document programming changes, system updates, and control designs
Support a safe, efficient, and quality-focused production environment

Qualifications

2+ years of experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs or similar control systems
Experience with PLC programming and control system design
Strong electrical, controls, and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams

Education

Associate degree from a technical college in Automation, Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering, IT, or related field preferred

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
