COMPENSATION
Bend, OR - $100,000 - $130,000
Palo Alto, CA - $120,000 - $155,000
Key Responsibilities
We’re looking to hire a Payroll and Benefits Manager who will be based out of either our Bend, OR office or our main office in Palo Alto, CA. This person will assist in designing and executing the payroll and benefits programs for our clients. Responsibilities include administration of regular payrolls, state tax registration, benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, 401(k) plan.
Responsibilities:

Set up and process US payroll for our client entities utilizing Paychex and other payroll platforms.

Administer payroll tax and related registrations for various States.

Assist in managing client 401(k) plans: helping with setting up the plans, reviewing quarterly and year-end employer match true-up, payroll reporting and submission, audits, and all regulatory requirements.

Fulfill all governmental regulatory mandates and ensure all associated filings are executed on time and as required. Generate files/reports such as the annual non-discrimination testing, annual reports, etc.

Assist in designing benefits programs for clients including health insurance, fringe benefits, and cafeteria plans.

Assist in administering annual benefits open enrollment period for clients.

Assist in managing ongoing, quarterly, and year-end reporting (taxes, payroll, Workers Comp, etc.) for clients.

Keep current and conduct research on the latest payroll and benefits regulations and market trend.
Qualifications

Extensive experience in payroll administration and dealing with state tax requirements.

Hands on experience with multiple payrolls in multiple states including manual processing.

Deep understanding in various benefits programs and hands-on experience in setting up and administering benefits.

Experience in setting up and administering retirement plans. Deep understanding of different types of employee retirement plans and legal requirements.

Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Strong organizational skills and ability to complete multiple tasks and a high volume of work by established deadlines.

Self-starter who can work independently and is a collaborative team player.

Experience with HRIS systems and computer software applications including Excel, Word, payroll, benefits, time & attendance, etc.

Broad knowledge of general Human Resources principles, policies, and procedures and multistate experience.
