Full Job Description

Large Oregon based construction materials testing and inspection laboratory has an immediate opening at our Bend branch for a friendly full-time Administrative Assistant. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of office experience to include intermediate level Word and Excel. Candidate should also be experienced in answering multiple phone lines, and be able to type at least 50 wpm.

We are looking for someone who is energetic, highly organized, detailed oriented and able to multi task in an extremely fast paced environment. Has the ability to switch from one task to another and prioritize effectively with a friendly, professional phone demeanor. Must enjoy working with others as a team within a casual/professional office.

Description/Duties:

Type inspection reports.
Perform general office duties which include answering phones, filing, using a copy machine, fax machine, postage machine, order office supplies, update tracking logs in excel and ordering food for lunch meetings.
As you gain experience in this role, you will learn to set up projects, manage billing processes, and coordinate dispatching systems. Each of these responsibilities requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to take ownership of critical processes that support the success of our team and clients.

Minimum Qualifications:

Intermediate MS Office Products; Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to learn an Informix database program
Must be dependable/reliable, detail oriented, quick learner and capable of multi-tasking.
Excellent communication, written, verbal and ‘people skills’ are must as we deal with a large variety and diverse group of clientele (Municipality, Engineers, Architects and Contractors).
Must possess basic math skills.
Accurate data entry and ability to learn new computer database is required.
Grammar and spelling skills are a must since our database does not have spelling or grammar checking.

Other Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
