From First Interview to First Paycheck
As an Employment Specialist, you'll guide individuals through every stage of their employment journey—from exploring career goals and building relationships with employers to developing employment opportunities, providing on-the-job coaching, and celebrating long-term success.

What You'll Do
- Develop competitive employment opportunities with businesses throughout Central Oregon.
- Build lasting relationships with employers, business leaders, and community partners.
- Network within the community to identify new employment opportunities.
- Conduct career exploration and person-centered employment planning.
- Assist individuals with resumes, interview preparation, applications, and career readiness.
- Match individuals with employment opportunities based on their strengths, interests, and career goals.
- Coordinate interviews, job shadows, and hiring activities.
- Provide individualized job coaching and workplace support to help clients successfully learn their jobs, build confidence, and achieve long-term employment success.
- Support individuals who are blind or have low vision by collaborating on workplace accommodations and adaptive employment strategies.
- Collaborate with Vocational Rehabilitation, the Oregon Commission for the Blind, employers, families, and support teams.
- Educate employers about disability inclusion, workplace accommodations, and Supported Employment.
- Celebrate client successes—from first interviews to first paychecks, promotions, and long-term career growth.

Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two (2) years of experience in workforce development, vocational rehabilitation, employment services, human services, business development, recruiting, education, sales, community outreach, or a related field.
- Valid Oregon Driver License.
- Reliable insured vehicle.
- Ability to travel throughout Central Oregon.
- Ability to pass required criminal background checks.
