Full Job Description

Earth Body Massage is a well-established therapeutic massage practice in Bend, Oregon with over 500 five-star Google reviews. We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on a remote, part-time basis.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, is highly organized, communicates professionally with patients, and has experience managing medical claims from submission through payment.

Position Details

Remote position
Approximately 10–15 hours per week
Flexible schedule
Independent Contractor (1099)

Responsibilities

Submit and manage claims
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims
Communicate professionally with insurance companies regarding claim status
Contact clients regarding outstanding balances and payment questions
Process client refunds when appropriate
Post insurance payments and reconcile claims
Monitor aging accounts and maintain accurate billing records
Work closely with the owner regarding billing questions and claim issues
Ensure timely and accurate documentation of billing activity

Qualifications

Previous medical billing experience required; Availity, Office Ally experience
Experience with insurance verification and claim follow-up
Strong understanding of EOBs, deductibles, co-insurance, and patient responsibility
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Professional written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
Experience with Office Ally, Availity, or similar billing platforms preferred
Experience in massage therapy, chiropractic, physical therapy, or another outpatient healthcare setting is a plus

Compensation

$25–$30 per hour, depending on experience.
