Sales Manager – Technical Business Development (Precast Concrete)

Position Summary

An established and growing precast/prestressed concrete manufacturer in the Northeast is seeking a Sales Manager to drive business development efforts throughout the region. This is a consultative, technical sales position focused on developing opportunities early in the design and construction process by working directly with architects, engineers, owners, developers, and general contractors.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted technical resource, helping customers evaluate precast concrete solutions from project concept through construction. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of precast systems, structural design, and the commercial construction process who enjoys influencing projects before they reach the bidding stage.

This position is primarily remote for candidates located within driving distance of southwestern Vermont and requires approximately 50% travel throughout the Northeast.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute strategies to generate new business and increase market share.
Build relationships with architects, engineers, developers, owners, and contractors during the early stages of project development.
Promote precast concrete solutions through technical presentations and consultative discussions.
Identify opportunities to have precast systems specified during project design.
Collaborate with estimating, engineering, and project management teams to develop project solutions.
Provide technical guidance regarding precast systems, building codes, and design considerations.
Track project opportunities from concept through award while maintaining an active sales pipeline.
Travel throughout the Northeast to support customers and develop new business.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management required.
5+ years of experience in precast/prestressed concrete
Proven ability to develop and execute business growth strategies.
Strong understanding of the commercial construction process, including permitting, design, estimating, fabrication, and construction.
Working knowledge of IBC building codes, PCI standards, and ACI design requirements.
Experience reading construction drawings and discussing technical solutions with design professionals.
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, or SolidWorks is preferred.
