Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable General Market Associate to join our team. This is intentionally a broad role: if you have a particular strength or interest — whether that's the kitchen, the register, the sales floor, or somewhere else — that should not discourage you from applying to this position. What we're really looking for is a team-first mentality and a willingness to move positions on the floor to ensure every guest leaves satisfied. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding guest service at every touchpoint throughout the store — welcoming customers warmly, answering product questions, resolving concerns with patience and professionalism, and ensuring every guest leaves with a positive experience
- Operate the point-of-sale system with accuracy and efficiency, processing cash, card, and digital transactions, maintaining a clean and organized checkout area, and following all cash handling, age-verification, and loss prevention procedures
- Stock, face, and rotate product across all departments, applying FIFO rotation practices, and building promotional displays that drive sales and highlight seasonal offerings
- Serve hot and cold food items in accordance with store recipes, portion standards, and quality expectations, while maintaining a clean and fully stocked food service area throughout the day
- Uphold all food safety, sanitation, temperature monitoring, and allergen awareness protocols in full compliance with state and local health regulations, ensuring the safety of every guest and team member
- Replenish and rotate prepared food items, assist with grab-and-go packaging, catering orders, and any special food service needs as directed by department leads or management
- Maintain store cleanliness and appearance across all areas — from the sales floor and checkout lanes to prep stations and display cases — creating a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for guests and team members alike
- Monitor shelf labels, signage, and product placement for accuracy, reporting discrepancies or restocking needs to management promptly to keep the store running smoothly
- Adapt fluidly to the needs of the store throughout each shift, shifting between cashiering, stocking, food service, and guest assistance as business demands require, at direction of management
Qualifications
- Previous experience in grocery, retail, food service, or a customer-facing role preferred — but not required; we will train the right person
- If you bring particular depth in one area — kitchen, deli, front end, or merchandising — tell us in your application. We're hiring broadly, but we'll lean into individual strengths where it makes sense for the store.
- A positive, can-do attitude and genuine commitment to delivering outstanding guest service in every interaction
- Ability to work comfortably across multiple departments and shift between tasks quickly and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain a clean, organized, and well-merchandised store environment
- Basic food handling knowledge or willingness to obtain food handler certification (training provided)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25+ lbs repeatedly throughout a shift when needed
- Reliable, punctual, and a team-first mindset
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Availability Requirements
Full-Time: Open availability required, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Part-Time: Flexible scheduling with availability on evenings and/or weekends preferred
