SpecialtyRx is seeking a Pharmacist for our new closed-door pharmacy location opening soon in Cook County, Illinois. We welcome experienced professionals looking to grow with a rapidly expanding long-term care pharmacy organization.

About Us:

SpecialtyRx is a Long-Term Care pharmacy providing pharmaceutical services to long-term care facilities and assisted living communities. We are committed to delivering personalized care and high-quality pharmacy services to the patients and facilities we serve.

As we expand into Cook County, Illinois, we are building a dedicated team focused on operational excellence and exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration.
Ensure medications are accurately dispensed and properly labeled.
Recommend therapy changes to physicians and facility staff when appropriate.
Maintain customer databases including medical history, clinical information, and laboratory data.
Investigate and resolve medication-related inquiries.
Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and healthcare team members regarding medication-related concerns.
Supervise medication preparation and dispensing processes.
Maintain controlled substance records for legal and inventory purposes.
Ensure proper medication storage and security standards are maintained.
Perform on-call duties when required.

Qualifications:

Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Illinois required.
Long-Term Care pharmacy experience preferred.
Previous experience in hospital, retail pharmacy, or related healthcare settings preferred.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Computer proficiency required.
Framework / ECM software knowledge is a plus.

Shift:

Full-time schedule:

1st shift 8am-4:30pm Monday–Friday and every other weekend.
2nd shift 6pm-2:30am Monday–Friday and every other weekend.
3rd Shift 7on/7off 10 hour shift Monday-Sunday every other week.
