Full Job Description

Job Summary:

The Laboratory Consultant and Client Services Specialist, deliver expert technical guidance to partner laboratories while managing critical client relationships. This dual-function role ensures clinical laboratories maintain strict compliance, optimal quality controls standards, and seamless communication with healthcare partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Consulting and QA/QC Compliance

Conduct onsite mock inspections at physicians' offices and clinical labs to ensure total CLIA, COLA, Joint Commission and CAP readiness.
Implement custom Quality Control templates, track proficiency testing performance and manage corrective action plans.
Author and update site-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with evolving state and federal guidelines.
Train point-of-care and laboratory staff on proper testing protocols, instrument maintenance, safety guidelines and regulatory standards.
Selection of test methodology that is appropriate.
Verification of the test procedures performed and establishment of the lab's test performance characteristics.
Overseeing the evaluation of the competency of all testing personnel.

Client Services Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for client laboratories, physicians and healthcare networks.
Investigate and swiftly resolve client issues regarding specimen integrity, delayed results, or billing discrepancies and any other issues that might arise for clients.
Conduct regular business reviews with clients to identify service improvements and expansion opportunities.

Working Conditions:

Reporting structure: reports directly to the Client Services Manager.
Travel Requirements: Requires routine travel throughout the state (up to 30-40%) to perform client site visits, audits and hands on-training.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Medical Technology (MT).
Certification: ASCP, AMT, or equivalent laboratory certification required.
Experience: 3+ years of clinical laboratory experience, with demonstrated involvement in POL compliance, QA/QC or laboratory client services.

Pay to be based on qualifications and experience.

Pay: From $1.00 per hour
